About Us

Dr. Cheryl Kujawinski, DACM L.Ac

Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Licensed Acupuncturist

Cheryl understands that healthcare is about more than just treating individual symptoms – it’s about creating holistic care plans tailored to her patients and their goals. With 13 years of experience specializing in women’s health, fertility, chronic pain and neuropathy treatment with acupuncture and lifestyle modification, she is uniquely positioned to help her patients achieve the results they long for – be it a pregnancy announcement or relief from persistent pain!

Her mission is to provide compassionate, individualized care while empowering each of her patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their own health journey. She continues to strive towards an equitable society where everyone has access to quality healthcare that works for them! The ultimate vision of Hawthorne Acupuncture is one where no patient ever feels alone on their healthcare journey; guided by a dedicated practitioner who values collaboration as much as clinical impact.

Off the clock:

You can find Cheryl enjoying all that Colorado has to offer – from exploring new hiking trails to paddle boarding, and getting more comfortable every year on skis. She is dedicated to learning and growing as a clinician and enjoys traveling to learn from the leading experts in the field of acupuncture and herbal medicine. Finally, she loves to spend quality time resting, relaxing and laughing with her husband, son, and their chihuahua mix, Henry.

Elizabeth Emanuel

Patient Care Coordinator

Elizabeth is the patient care coordinator/office manager at Hawthorne Acupuncture. She is a recent graduate from Metro-Denver with a degree in human biology and an emphasis on nutrition and chemistry. She understands the importance of knowing how the body and mind work. After graduating, she was not feeling fulfilled in her position as a pharmacy technician and her soul was telling her to abandon her idea of pursuing pharmacy school. After finding Cheryl at Hawthorne Acupuncture and almost immediately feeling better from her services, she knew she wanted to learn more.

Off the clock:

Elizabeth enjoys working with her hands and using her creativity. Crafting, gardening, building legos, and reading good books are just a few things she enjoys when she’s not at work. She also volunteers for a local dog shelter helping to transport and locate new homes for dogs who are in need of help. She is a lover of all animals and also walks dogs for fun on the side.

Riley Mayer

Hi! My name is Riley Mayer, and I am a patient care coordinator. I handle appointment scheduling, answering the phones, and making your visit as smooth as possible. I became involved with Hawthorne Acupuncture after using their acupuncture services to help recover from a health issue a year ago. I enjoyed the atmosphere and was really curious as to the inner workings of how everything ran!

Off the clock, I am a high school senior at Legend High School. I love going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, and going to school sports games.
